What is geocaching?
Geocaching is a small treasure hunt. The aim: to find a box (the cache), hidden in urban or rural areas, using GPS coordinates and a good sense of observation. All you then have to do is retrieve an object from the box and sign inside with the date you found it. Then don't forget to mention on the application that you found it! Practised all over the world, geocaching allows you to combine outdoor leisure with adventure. A free and unusual activity to do alone, with friends or family.
Where and how to practice it?
La Manche is a leading place for geocachers! There are hundreds of caches to discover in the South Channel.
To begin with, nothing could be simpler:
- Download the GeoCaching application on your smartphone
- Create an account
- Find the caches with the application
- Log your adventure online
Villedieu-les-Poêles and its surroundings also have scattered geocaches...
Will you be able to find them?
