As part of the exhibition Les bêtes au Moyen Âge (Beasts in the Middle Ages), Théâtre en Partance presents a musical reading of the Legend of Saint Julien l?hospitalier.
While hunting in the forest, Julien is foretold by a stag that he will kill his parents. Frightened, he leaves the family castle to escape the omen. He then embarks on a life of wandering and adventure, at the end of which he will not escape the prophecy...
Flaubert was inspired to write this fantastic medieval tale in 1876 by a stained-glass window in Rouen Cathedral. Its reading takes on a very special dimension in the ruins of the abbey church of Notre-Dame de Hambye, at twilight!
Running time: 1 hour 10 minutes.
Ages 13 and up.
Reservations required.
